You do not need an account to use the countdown or read an article. Like most websites, our hosting provider and security tools may record technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, approximate location, and the date and time of the request.

We use Google Analytics, Site Kit by Google, Jetpack Stats, and server logs to understand which pages are useful, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve the site. These services may use cookies or similar technology and may receive technical information about your visit.

Cookies and similar technology

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. The site and its service providers may use cookies or local storage for security, site measurement, consent choices, and advertising. Some cookies last only for a session. Others remain until they expire or you remove them through your browser settings.

Advertising and Journey by Mediavine

The site uses Journey by Mediavine for advertising. Mediavine and its advertising partners may process device and browser information, page visits, IP addresses and identifiers through cookies or similar technology to deliver and measure ads. The site’s former Google AdSense and Adsterra integrations are disabled.

Use the advertising privacy or consent controls shown for your region to manage the available choices. Your browser can also block or clear cookies. Clearing saved data may reset both privacy preferences and locally saved planning tools.

Browser-saved planning tools

Gift lists, budgets, recipe shortlists and selected school dates can be saved in this browser. They do not automatically sync to another device. Clearing site storage removes these saved entries. The plan preview sends its entered planning answers to the site to calculate the preview; those answers are not added to your newsletter profile.

Email and contact information

If you email us, we use your address and message only to read, reply, keep an ordinary correspondence record, and handle any request you make. We do not sell contact information or add it to a marketing list.

How information is shared

Information may be processed by companies that provide hosting, security, analytics, consent management, and advertising services for this site. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse, or to protect the site and its visitors. We do not add direct correspondence to our newsletter without a separate signup. Retention and security

Service providers keep technical data for the periods described in their own policies. We keep direct email correspondence only as long as it remains useful for responding or maintaining a reasonable record. We use reasonable safeguards, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Children

The site is suitable for families, but it is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. A parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion if they believe a child has sent personal information.
